The following window will allow you to pull in a crew list from most CSV files.

You can set any character as the delimiter, which is the character used in the file to divide up the columns. This is normally a comma but could also be a semicolon, a colon etc.
You can specify the first and last rows of the file to import if you want to read in a subset of the file. The row numbers are shown on the left of the table to make this easier.
You can also optionally assign a Crew and Rotation to the people being created. The rotation is a custom text field (we recommend a single letter like ‘A’ or ‘B’), which can then be used to quickly add embarkation and disembarkation events.
Alternatively, you can manually set these later, adding the people directly after they have been created.
You need to click on the “Assign…” buttons at the top of the table to tell the software in which columns the various fields are located, as this can vary from file to file.
The minimum requirements are to specify either the Full name or the First Name and Last Name but it is recommended that you also assign the other fields if the data is in the file.

Chapter 3: Key People
The Role that is taken from the CSV file is a free text field that can contain anything that you prefer.
People in Havian also have the additional property of a Key Person and a Key Role, such as ‘Client Rep’ or ‘Party Chief’. These are a set of Havian standards, but new key roles can be added to your company’s projects.

Assigning one of these to a person allows the software to automatically offer the appropriate people in various dropdown menus in the Reports area.
If someone should appear in one of these dropdowns and is not visible, it is likely that the Key Role has not been assigned correctly on the person in Resources.
