Chapter 1: How to add resources to a project

The first step to setting up your project is to add Resources.
These will form the available options for you to later assign data to, as your project progresses

Go to Setup  Resources

Bold items in your resource tree are types of resources that can be added to your project.

To add a resource, follow these steps:

Click the add button (+) to the right of the resource type name

Choose the recourse you want to add

The list of available resource types will dynamically update as you add resources

Chapter 2: Essential resources to add

Company
Used to generate the headers in your reports

Vessel(s)
A main vessel is one that contributes directly towards the production. The Type field determines the production logs which will be available for this vessel

Personnel
Represent the people on the vessel for use in the Crew Hours, High Risk and Reports sections. Multiple people can also be added by importing their details from a CSV file:

Block/Area

All production must be logged against a block. The Block geodetics field will be automatically populated when you import a preplot if possible, or must be set up manually if not

Chapter 3: Optional/project-specific resources to add

Monitored Resources

Use this one to log timing events against special pieces of equipment. Each type of monitored equipment has its own timing codes, which are different to a generic vessel

Land Team

For land/onshore seismic projects

Crew

Add different kind of crew and hours per man day

Bunkers

Define fuel types available on each vessel, and set default emission factors for each type.

Sub Area

Define a sub area which is independent of your block. This is used later to automatically generate your production within a sub area. For example, how much production was there in UK territory? Sub areas are most easily defined with a shape file.

Obstructions and Boundaries

Add obstructions or boundaries to your maps by clicking the add button (+)

Block Boundary: If you use shape file, then change the ‘geometry’ field to ‘GIS file’

Receivers

For seismic projects, add your available receivers related to all vessels

Source(s)

For seismic projects, add your available sources related to all vessels

Other Geophysical survey equipment

Add other types of geophysical equipment such as Magnetometer, and later log production on this equipment alongside your seismic production.

File Share

Add file snippets here, mainly used for sharing samples of QC files with Havian support. Add a file snippet resource, select the path of the full file, and the software will automatically add a 5MB snippet of the file to the project.
