Chapter 1: Crew and Crew Hours

This log allows you to record embarkation and disembarkation events.

First go to Setup  Resources to create separate logs for each vessel.

Then go to Logging  Crew Hours to start logging.

First choose Vessel, date and then click “+” to add entry to choose event type.

Each event is specific to a Crew (defined in your resources section) so if you are tracking multiple crews, you need to add a separate event for each one.

The data entered in this section feeds into several report blocks, including Persons on Board and is used to calculate the Crew Hours figures.

There are two methods you can use to track your crews:Count and Persons on Board.

Go to Setup  Resources to choose in the dropdown menu.

The way these two options works is explained in Chapter 2 and 3 below.

Chapter 2: Count

To add an event, go to Logging  Crew Hours, then “+ Click to add entry”.

If the Count option is set on the selected crew, you just enter the number of personnel as below, and it is possible to choose a method as well.

This is the simpler of the two options and is best used when you do not need to track which specific crew members are embarked or disembarked from the vessel.

Please note that you should enter the number of people embarking or disembarking on this specific event, rather than the actual total number of people on board as the software will calculate the latter value by examining all of the events entered up to a particular date.

Chapter 3: Persons on Board

If the option is set to Persons onboard in the Resource setup, you will have a Crew List property, showing all of the Personnel that are assigned to the selected Crew in the Resources section.

Please note that the software keeps track of who is and is not currently on the vessel based on the previous Crew Hours entries and will only show people who are not currently on the vessel for Starting Crew and Personnel Embark events, and only show people who are on the vessel for Personnel Disembark events.

For convenience, the buttons below the list allow you to select everyone, deselect everyone or select people who have been assigned a particular Rotation in the Resources area.

As well as using the number of people embarked to calculate man hours in some of the reports, you can also use the Persons on Board report block to include in the report a list of all of the people on the vessel on a given date.
